I’ve been at Crossing the Jordan since 2015 but I am, in fact, the newest on the Executive Team. I came in as a consultant and fell in love with the people. The Optimal You Quest, Transformation at a Cellular Level is my dream child. I came in to teach my course and found myself still here years later, immersed in writing and developing the curriculum along with the team. As crazy as this place gets, I would never have it any other way.
It makes total sense why I’m so passionate about Crossing the Jordan. I came from very humble beginnings. I was raised by an addict mother that was never sober a day in her life. From as young as I can remember, I didn’t believe the theory that addiction is a disease. My mother was a victim of that mentality her entire life, so I had a front row seat to how it enslaved her. Before I even knew what I was going to do in life, I was on a quest to prove that theory wrong. It just was obvious to me that we can all be entrapped by the consequences of a bad habit, and addiction is a habit we can break free from.
I’ve overcome many obstacles and my upbringing ended up being my greatest motivator. I decided I would not be defined by my childhood. Suffering during some of those obstacles, I became passionate about reinventing myself and it’s why I created the Optimal You Quest.
It’s also why I’m so health-conscious: I believe we all have an optimal version of ourselves and we are designed to spend our lives going after it. We are all called to make a positive contribution to the world and to connect to others. My greatest gift is supporting those that are on the journey of discovering their optimal self. Since addiction is one result of not seeing any other option or possibility, I’m committed to helping people be open to the unlimited possibilities that are available to them.
The journey can get messy. Somehow I can hold the space with the toughest of criminals, the saddest of the brokenhearted and those struggling to break free from the trauma of their pasts. I know my gift to the world, and today, I have the awesome privilege of standing in the gap for these extraordinary people.
I’m a trainer at heart. I’ve traveled the country training corporate executives. I love navigating through life’s obstacles. I started training and coaching at age 35 and it made me come alive. I’ve journaled every single day since I was 20 years old, which is cool considering where I came from. Journaling has always kept me moving forward, staying in the question, curious about what was next.
I’m a total romantic. Candle-lit bubble baths are my go-to. I’d rather be driven than drive. ‘Transformation’ should be my middle name. Relationships motivate me. I’m high energy but peace is super important to me as well. I love chillin’ at home, or cooking and cleaning. I’ve got this wild affection for everything coconut oil and I’ve evolved from a glam girl to an all natural, organic woman. My three children (1 young one and 2 adults) are my gift from God.
